Studying abroad prepares Taylor University grad for Peace Corps

Ariel Bloomer, 23, of Mason, Ohio, has been accepted into the Peace Corps and will depart for the Dominican Republic Aug. 18 to begin training as a youth development volunteer. Bloomer will live and work at the community level to equip Dominican youth with the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to assume positive adult roles and become healthy and engaged citizens. She will work with community members to create and implement youth groups, camps, sports teams, and parent groups that focus on personal development, life skills, leadership, positive relationships, and gender perspective.
