Westmont, Ill., resident begins Peace Corps service in Zambia

Nirav Shah, 31, of Westmont, Ill., has been accepted into the Peace Corps and will depart for Zambia June 11 to begin training as a health volunteer. Shah will make a difference teaching public health in classrooms and assisting local clinics and government planning offices in identifying health education needs and developing outreach programs.

Shah is the son of Ashok and Smita Shah and a graduate of Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale, Ill. He graduated from California State University in Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing in 2006, and he earned his master’s in Public Health from Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill., in 2010.  Continue reading “Westmont, Ill., resident begins Peace Corps service in Zambia”
